The President-General, Abba Community, Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra, Engr B. C. Anaekwe had expressed displeasure over the postponement of the election which was slated for April, 2019.
The election would have ushered in new leadership of the town if not for the postponement. Engr Anaekwe in an interview with Daily Telegraph said that he was prepared to conduct the election had it not being for the postponement. His words, "Truly, I am not happy as you can see that the election monitoring team from the state Ministry of Information, the Press, and some P-Gs, especially from Ifitedunu, Umunnachi, etc are here.
"But, since the appeal for the postponement of the election came from our highly respected Igwe Ezenwata, I cannot do otherwise. It is just that to be a leader is an assidous task, but some people think that it is an opportunity to amass wealth", he lamented.
Earlier, Igwe Ezenwata had appealed for the postponement of the election as the Constitution states that elections into the executive of the community should be conducted at the general meeting in December when it is expected that those in Diaspora would be home for Christmas.
